This is the Wenger family. Their son is 7 months old and is one cute kid. We hit up Shocko Bottom for a morning photo shoot. This was my first time shooting in and around Main St. Station. I have shot a lot of the area around it but never the station itself. It was a great place that I am going to have to go back to again. Hope you enjoy their photo’s.

Meghan is one of my friends from graduate school. We got our masters degree in the same lab. We worked together for a little over 2 years. She was a great person to work with and I really miss working with her. After she left the lab she started her family. This was my first time getting to meet Leah their daughter. She is a sweet girl who loves to run. We hit up old Maymont for some fall colors. Hope you enjoy their previews.

Brandon and Meg were married on October 20th, 2012. These two might look a little familear becuse I shot their engagement photos about a year ago. Here is the link.  Throughout the wole day it was evident that these two belonged together. Their passion and energy when together is fun to watch and transfered to the pictures. The day was filled with happy moments and also wonderful reminders of Megs Mom who passed away several years ago. I loved the way they took time to remember her in many different ways throughout the day.

Once the preperation and ceramony were over there was plenty of parting to be done at the  reception. These two have a good time together and with their friends they all made it a really fun night to watch. Meg and Brandon, thanks for letting me capture your wedding day. I hope these images will be ones that you will enjoy and look back on after many years of marrage. Congrats you two.

Here are the Launders one year later. Last year we went to Sunday Park and the photos can be seen here.  Keeping with the tradition, the family chose the same location this year.  This little munchkin is adorable and full of personality. Enjoy the family’s second year photos.

The Paroulek family was referred to me by another family. This young fun family had two wonderful and energetic boys who kept me on my toes. These guys were full of personality and made the photo shoot fun. We trekked out to Maymont again and I enjoyed taking pictures on this sunny and warm fall day. Enjoy a few of their photos.

It seems like every time I have been to the Capitol for a photo shoot it has been 100 degrees and just miserably humid. Today was the first day I have had a shoot there when it was a nice 70 degrees and beautiful weather. This young family hit the timing of the weather just right which made for happy children and great pictures. Enjoy some of this family’s previews.

I know it’s only September, well its almost October, and people are still enjoying the somewhat warm weather, but the next time you look at the calendar, it will be December and it will be time to get those Christmas cards off to all the friends and loved ones. I am here to help you out and get your Christmas cards juiced up this year with a current portrait of your family. Speaking from personal experience, getting a Christmas card with a family portrait on the front of it is my favorite card to get. We proudly display them on the refrigerator or on the mantel every year.  This year, ditch the plain Jane card with just your signature and show loved ones and friends how your family has grown, changed or not changed during this past year with pictures.

When: Book now and reserve a convenient date and time.

Where: Richmond and surrounding areas in Virginia (outside of Richmond will require a travel fee).

Time: 1 hour photo shoot

Cost: $99 (gets you all edited digital files, and online gallery)

Contact: special@waggenerphotography.com (804) 239-2736

Here are some samples from the past year

You might remember the Potter’s from about 1 year ago. If not, here is the link . This family came back to me for some pictures of their daughter who just turned two a couple of months ago. It was really great to see how much she has changed over the past year.  She is so full of personality and such a pleasure to be around.  After these photo shoots, I generally post anywhere from 5 to 10 pictures on the blog so  family and friends can get a sampling of what pictures we took. I honestly had the hardest time narrowing down a selection of images to post. They were all so good and so different. In about 10 seconds this little one would have more funny and cute faces than I could ever even show.  Hope you all enjoy.

This is James. Close friends of ours just took this little guy home from the hospital only a couple of weeks ago. As you can see from the title, this little one shares his name from 3 other James’s in his family.  I am sure we all will come up with a nickname for him just like we did his father many years ago. I’ve known James’s dad for years and am so proud of him in his new role of being a father. Hope you all enjoy.

When I go down to Texas I usually get really inspired to take pictures. Well, not sitting around in Waco per say but going out to the hill country in Llano really gets me wanting to take pictures and look at things a little differently. I have a hard time doing this at the house in Richmond, maybe its because everything is familiar and I don’t look at the things around me the same way when I go to a different place like Texas. Yes texas is my second home and I have been taking pictures in Llano for many years, but every time I go down there I start seeing things differently. I am trying to get my self to do that back in VA. Sometimes in the personal work category I feel stuck or in a rut. Takeing the same pictures again and again. I need to find that spark I find in Llano TX back here in VA.

The pictures you see here are from my trip to Tx. Some were shot on my regular camera and some were shot on my iPod touch. See if you can guess which are which. There has been good amount of rain down there this spring and winter which apparently made for a great wild flower season. I caught the tail end of if and grabbed some flowers from the fields and shaped some pictures on a white background. If you haven’t seen the TX wild flower season its a must. all the fields are covered with bluebonnets and indian paintbrushes and many other different species of flowers. I missed the bluebonnets this year but seemed to find indian paint brushes and a couple of other species. The top picture is a way to over use 5 different strobe lights to light one rock at sundown. You can see the setup for the shot in the last picture. The rest of the pictures are from the actual town of Llano. If you blink you might miss it. Its city streets are a throwback to the 50’s and 60’s as seen by some of the architecture still standing. Hope you all enjoy.
